The Grand-Ducal Regulation provides for the mechanism to remain in operation until 31/12/2020. A decision will be taken subsequently as to whether or not to continue the programme in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg beyond 2020. Current discussions at European level favour continuing the obligation mechanisms.

An “active and incentive” role is one that must be demonstrated by an energy supplier and/or its partners. An active and incentive role is considered to be one that makes any direct contribution to a beneficiary. An incentive may take different forms (finance, advice, various types of support etc.) and the beneficiary must be notified thereof before placing an order for works.

Enovos Luxembourg is the main one. Sudgaz joined the "enoprimes" programme in October 2015.

Energy savings are calculated and expressed in kWh and MWh but do not necessarily correspond with the energy savings visible on the energy bill every year, due to works undertaken. They are calculated according to the provisions of the Grand Ducal Regulation of 07/08/2015 relating to the energy efficiency obligation mechanism for suppliers.

The energy saving achieved is calculated using a method defined by the Ministry of Economy for standard measures. The amount of the subsidy is in direct relation to this energy saving.

No. There is no obligation either to be or to become a customer of an energy supplier offering "enoprimes" subsidies.

The amount of the bill has no direct impact on the amount of the subsidy. However the subsidy may not exceed the total investment. When there is no investment in a project by the customer concerned, Enovos reserves the right to adjust the amount of the subsidy at the end of the project whilst retaining a level of incentive for the customer.

A single project within a company or municipality may only receive one "enoprimes" subsidy. If, on the other hand, you undertake energy improvement works on the same equipment or facility at a later date, you may submit an "enoprimes" request, because you will probably achieve a further energy saving as a result of this improvement.

No, there is no ceiling for subsidies. The energy saving achieved determines the amount of the subsidy. The greater the energy saving, the higher the subsidy. No. If you receive an "enoprimes" subsidy, you may not request a second subsidy from another energy supplier under the energy efficiency obligation mechanism. The energy savings made during a project may only be recovered by one energy supplier. By agreeing to an "enoprimes” subsidy, you undertake not to accept assistance from another energy supplier under the energy efficiency obligation mechanism.

Yes, you may also request State (or municipal) assistance, even if you are already receiving an "enoprimes" subsidy. The various types of assistance may be received simultaneously.

"enoprimes" is the subsidy programme implemented by Enovos to meet its obligations in terms of EU Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU. With "enoprimes", renovation and energy improvement works are subsidized by energy suppliers.

You must be in possession of a subsidy offer before launching your project. In the case of standard measures proposed in our simulator, offers are issued immediately. You will find your offer in the online file on your my.enoprimes portal. For other so-called “special” measures, please allow a timeframe dependent in line with the complexity of your application. We therefore encourage you to think ahead and be certain to have received our offer before signature of the order for the planned works (order = signature of quotation, written order, payment of a deposit, purchase of material etc.).
